Church Staff
Rev. Merry Meloy, Pastor
Merry has been our pastor since October, 2005. Before coming to Butler, she served several churches in Central Pennsylvania. A graduate of Penn State University and Princeton Theological Seminary, she finds joy in worship, teaching, and serving the people of Saint Andrews. She also loves spending time with family and traveling.
Deanna Golden, Director of Music
Deanna Golden has been singing as long as she can remember. She was a voice major at Slippery Rock University studying Music Education and Music Therapy. Soon after graduation she began directing church choirs and has continued to do so ever since. Meanwhile, Deanna has enjoyed singing with world-renowned conductors of the Philadelphia Singers' Chorale and Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, and performing as soloist with the Greater South Jersey Chorus. Deanna and her husband, Kyle, live in Penn Township with their two children.
Lori Haughey, Children's Ministry
"My name is Lori Haughey. I am the Children's Education Director at Saint Andrews UP Church. I am also a preschool teacher at Primarily Kids Preschool. I live in Butler with my husband Jim and my daughters Elizabeth and Abigail."
Dave White, Youth Ministry
I have been working with the youth at Saint Andrews for the past 11 years. I have two daughters, Jessica (13) and Olivia (6). My favorite parts of being involved with the youth group are the mission trips and watching the kids develop from 11 and 12 year old kids into 18 yr olds ready to conquer the world. Really, I love doing this because I'm still a 12 yr old boy at heart.
Chuck Davey, Organist
John C. Davey, otherwise known as "Chuck", has been organist at St. Andrews since 1991. He accompanies congregational singing of hymns and service music, and provides both piano and organ accompaniment for St. Andrews Chancel Choir and soloists as well as prelude and postlude music for worship service. As time permits he also occasionally composes and arranges music for the choir and other performers in St. Andrews music program. He also uses his quick wit to provide a ready laugh whenever it is needed. In his other life, he is an attorney in Butler whose practice emphasizes real estate and estate work.
Susan Moon, Handbell Director
Susan has been ringing handbells since the age of ten, and has been directing the handbell choirs at Saint Andrews for more than twenty years. Susan is also a substitute teacher in the Butler School District and lives with her husband, Kevin and daughter, Ashley.
Stephanie Slezak, Office Manager/Bookkeeper
Stephanie has a finance degree from Robert Morris University and was in the banking industry prior to coming to Saint Andrews. She is active in Parish Education and Children and Youth Ministry in her home church. Stephanie and her family enjoy the outdoors, exploring mountains, lakes and beaches, and spending time together.
